Washington, DC June 10, 2008) Todd Curry has joined the bi-partisan government relations firm of Colling Swift & Hynes (CSH).
Prior to joining CSH, Mr. Curry was a legislative aide to the Honorable Solomon P. Ortiz (TX-27) for nearly three years, where he advised the Congressman on several domestic policy issues. He was the primary staff counsel assisting Congressman Ortiz with his work on the House Natural Resources Committee focusing on coastal erosion and the reauthorization of the Magnuson-Stevens Conservation and Management Act. Additionally, Mr. Curry worked on the team that created the annual Border Health Conference held in Washington, DC to examine the health challenges facing the U.S.-Mexico border region.
Mr. Curry holds a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, from Texas State University-San Marcos, where he majored in Geography. While in college, Mr. Curry was instrumental in the passage of a historic environmental service fee used to generate funds for campus environmental projects. He was also a member of the National Association of Environmental Professionals, which organized expanded paper, glass, plastic, and aluminum recycling on the Texas State University campus.
"I look forward to utilizing my legal and environmental science background to serve the firm's clients, which include the nation's leaders in 100% recycled paper manufacturing," said Todd Curry. "One of my core values is the ongoing development of responsible societal environmental stewardship. As the U.S. expands its efforts to fight global warming, I intend to promote the benefits of paper recycling at each step in the process and work to ensure that the positive contributions of the industry are understood and recognized in public policy."
"We are delighted to welcome Todd Curry to our team at Colling Swift & Hynes," said Terese Colling, President of CSH. "Todd has an accomplished educational background as well as years of Congressional work experience. I know he'll bring a unique perspective to the table in meeting our clients' needs."
Originally from Corpus Christi, TX, Mr. Curry has lived on the East Coast for six years and is a member of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association, the Texas State Society, and the Louisiana State Society.
Colling noted that, “Curry will add value to the firm’s significant environmental practice including Al Swift, member of the U.S. House of Representatives for 16 years and the Chairman of the Subcomittee on Transportation and Hazardous materials, and Fran McPoland, the nation’s first Federal Environmental Executive who served in the White House during the Clinton years.”
Since 1996 Colling Swift & Hynes has developed and implemented strategic government relations initiatives on behalf of its clients.
